Britains biggest Barbel

The Traveller - current UK record - found dead on the bank.

Britains biggest barbel, The Traveller, has been found mutilated on the banks of the the Adams Mill stretch of the River Great Ouse.

The culprit behind the death is suspected to be either an otter or a group of mink.
Some even speculate that it could have been a group of travellers but this is unlikely as its looks more like an otter attack.

The great barbel last came out at a new british record of 21lb 2oz, Captor Ghraeme King says that 'I wasn't looking to recapture him it just happened!'

It is a shock to the entire fishing world but people say that there are 3 other large barbel in that stretch capable of growing as big if not bigger.
