Chris Ritch Bags PB Perch

Young angler Chris Ritch catches his PB perch at over 3lb, on worm

Angler Chris Ritch (16) visited a newly opened lake at Heyford to bag this pristine 3lb 9oz fish.

Chris, a racehorse stable lad, fished a pole at 5 meters after baiting with chopped worm, maggots and ringers bag up carp mix. On the size 14 hook with 3lb hooklink to 4lb mainline, was a lobworm section.

The fish came after several other fish to 3lb, including perch over 2lb.

"The fight was very powerful and at first I thought I had latched into a carp the way it tore off stretching my blue hydrolastic out a good 5 foot.

"When I finally netted it, I let it calm down for a minute in the landing net until it let me hold it, unhook him and of course weigh him and have a photo taken."

This perch is Chris' third entry this month in the Personal Best Cup so far.
