Lady Lands 209lb Catfish
Linda Billington bags a big spanish moggy, and discovers the perfect cure for golfers elbow!
Linda Billington booked a holiday in Spain fishing for wels catfish just before Christmas. After booking it suffered from 'Golfers elbow' - a similar injury to Tennis Elbow.
The first fish she hooked caused her concern that the fight would rule out any further fishing due to the pain in her elbow:
"I struck into the fish as it was getting dark.
"As it was my first fish of the holiday I didn't know what to expect - My previous PB was 16lb!
"I felt that this would be my first and probably my last fish of the trip and my dreams would be in tatters and my holiday ruined due to my gammy elbow."
The fight lasted for 20 - 25 minutes, and when the fish broke the surface Linda breathed a huge sigh of relief, knowing then that no other fish would test her arm as much as the one she had hooked.
By the end of the holiday Linda had banked 5 moggies at 103lb, 117lb, 124lb, 150lb and 209lb. Lindas husband caught 4 catfish ranging from 85lb - 166lb and landed a new PB carp of 35lb 2oz.
The catfish was caught on 7 halibut 22mm pellets using braided hooklink and mainline.
