Fishing Article Writing & Submission Help

Submitting your fishing articles couldnt be easier! Follow these simple steps and you will be a published angler in no time at all:

The Title

Decide upon a descriptive, title that gives potential readers an accurate idea what the article is about. For example, an article describing the river severn habitat, species and popular methods of fishing might have the title:

The River Severn - the fish and the fishing

Title must be no more than 60 characters in length.

The Description

Provide a description of the fishing article. The description should serve to entice potential readers, after the title has grabbed their attention. Try not to be ambiguous. It should expand upon the title. For example:

The rivers got lots of fish. This article looks at how to get them.

The above is too vague. It doesnt contain any words found in the title and contains no interesting facts to intrigue the reader. A better example:

The Severn contains every species of coarse fish in the UK. We breakdown the locations and tactics used when fishing our longest river

The latter example is concise, interesting and descriptive.

The Article Body

Copy and paste your article into the box provided, after spell checking

The Keywords

To make it easier and efficient for readers to search for fishing articles, we use keywords. To decide on effective keywords, pick three or four words that:

  • Appear in the title, description and body
  • Describe what the article is about

Each keyword should be seperated by a comma. For example, keywords for the Severn article might be:

severn, fishing, river, tactics, location

The Category

Select the category into which the angling article falls. Our example fits best with \'Venues\'. If you are unsure, dont worry, just select which you think is best suited!

  • Tales from the bankside - general fishing stories, fishing reports, or regular angling journal entries
  • Talking tactics - in depth tutorials on using particular methods or techniques, new and old
  • Species specials - descriptions of individual species or approaches to catching them
  • Tackle - all things tackle related, including reviews
  • Venues - descriptions of fishing venues such as rivers or lakes, the clubs that control them etc.

Submit!

Once all the information has been filled in, simply click submit! Dont worry if you are unsure about anything, as it can easily be edited later by admin.
