I have recently changed my policy on external links. I found myself adding links to this page that either weren't being reciprocated or were poor quality sites that did not benefit visitors.
The remaining links that were to sites that were of genuine value were being lost in a sea of URLs and dodgy animated banners and I feel that I was doing the good sites, and visitors no favours.
Therefore, I will be working links to the sites that I consider valuable to visitors into other sections of Fish Ezine, which I consider relevant to the site that is being linked to. That way, not only am I returning your favour of linking to my site, but I am also providing a higher value link in the 'eyes' of the search engines, finally, visitors clicking through from more strategically placed links will more likely be interested in the subject that your site covers. For example: lower severn see the top tip.
If you run a site with a page made up almost solely of links, I urge you to consider following suit for the benefit of your visitors and the internet as a whole.
